Manpower Safety Policy Statement

It is our policy that accident prevention shall be considered of primary important in all phases of our operation and administration. It is the intention of Manpower's top management to provide safe and healthy working conditions and to establish and insist upon safe practices at all times by all employees.

Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Acts and good safety practice require that all employers provide safe and healthy working conditions for all of their employees. This requirement is especially difficult for a temporary help service because we have little direct control over the facilities where the majority of our employees work. We have an obligation, however, to ensure that our employees are assigned to work that is free of unsafe working conditions and/or hazards.

In order to meet these obligations, every Manpower staff member must make every reasonable effort and accept responsibility that employees are not knowingly sent to customer whose premises or work areas are unsafe or present and undue hazard to our employees.

Our primary goal is to achieve the greatest degree of freedom from accidents and to provide a safe and healthy working environment.

Manpower's Substance Abuse Policy prohibits its employees' involvement in the workplace manufacture, sale or purchase – or the attempted manufacture, sale or purchase – of narcotics, drugs, alcohol, or any illegal or controlled substances and their possession and/or use. Manpower has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy on workplace violence. That means that acts or threats of physical violence, including any form of intimidation, harassment and/or coercion, which involved Manpower or its employees, or Manpower customers or their employees, when it occurs in connection with employment with Manpower will not be tolerated at any time.

When a Manpower employee is offered an assignment with a specific customer, he or she is also given a job description. If the employee arrives as the assignment and the job description has changed, he or she is directed to call Manpower immediately. It is the responsibility of all Manpower employees to know and follow all of Manpower's safety rules and procedures, as well as those of the customer and the job site.

Manpower is very concerned about the safety of our employees and, as such, we require our employees to inform Manpower and our customer of all injuries immediately.
